About
Dr Aparna Ramachandran
SYDNEY OBSTETRIC AND MFM SPECIALIST
As an Obstetrician and Maternal-Fetal Medicine subspecialist, I’m dedicated to providing thoughtful, personalised care throughout your pregnancy.
I understand that every pregnancy is unique; I take the time to listen to your concerns, understand your individual needs, and work with you to build a care plan that feels right for you and your family.
Education and Qualifications
I completed my specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, with additional training in complex obstetrics and laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. I was subsequently selected for subspecialty training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, which I undertook at Nepean Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women and the Mater Mothers’ Hospital in Brisbane. This included specialised training in fetal therapy and in-utero procedures.
Training across several leading tertiary hospitals has given me broad clinical experience caring for women with both straightforward and complex pregnancies, as well as an appreciation of the different approaches when pregnancy does not go entirely to plan. I bring this experience to each consultation, with the aim of providing care that is evidence-based, compassionate and tailored to you and your pregnancy.
Alongside my private practice, I am a Staff Specialist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where I care for women with complex pregnancies through the multidisciplinary maternal medicine service, and provide fetal medicine and specialist ultrasound services. I remain actively involved in teaching and research, ensuring that my practice continues to reflect the latest evidence and advances in Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
By choosing me as your obstetrician, you can expect:
EXPERT, PERSONALISED CARE
High-quality obstetric care grounded in broad clinical experience and tailored to your individual needs.

RESPECTFUL, INCLUSIVE CARE
An inclusive approach that recognises and celebrates that every family is unique and that families come in many different forms.
